Institutional and adoption website for GAVAS, an animal welfare nonprofit from Santa Fé do Sul (SP), Brazil, with adoption and volunteering flows, remarkable stories, and multiple donation channels. Project built as volunteer work.

GAVAS was born in Santa Fé do Sul (SP), Brazil, from a group of independent animal rescuers who, after a year of studying animal protection around the world, formally organized in 2006. The nonprofit works on rescuing, caring for, and responsibly rehoming dogs and cats, sustaining its work through volunteering, donations, and the support of partner companies.
This website is a volunteer project: our team created, developed, and maintains it at no cost, as a way to support the animal welfare cause.
The challenge
The challenge was to translate the dedication of those who care for animals into a warm, meaningful digital experience, with clear and accessible flows connecting people willing to adopt, volunteer, or donate.
The solution
Mínima created the user experience and the interface, guided by empathy and with vibrant colors that convey lightness and hope. We were responsible for the website’s development, also as volunteer work. The main deliverables were:
- Dog and cat adoption flows, with forms gathering the information needed to start the adoption process, from the animal’s size and age to the Responsibility Agreement;
- Participation channels, with volunteer sign-up, animal abuse reports, and a free spay and neuter queue in partnership with the municipal government of Santa Fé do Sul;
- Casos Ilustres, a section with the most remarkable stories of the animals that passed through the nonprofit’s care;
- Institutional structure and transparency, with pages covering who they are, their projects, and accountability for the work;
- Multiple donation channels, from bank transfers to a monthly subscription on a crowdfunding platform and donations added to the local water bill; and
- Awareness alert, highlighting Federal Law 14.064/20, which makes animal abandonment a crime punishable by two to five years of imprisonment.
The results
Since its launch, the website has remained online as a showcase of the nonprofit’s work, with the adoption, volunteering, and free spay and neuter forms active, the Casos Ilustres stories on display, and donations coming in through the most varied channels, from bank transfers to the local water bill in Santa Fé do Sul.
